This is a good way to eat chickpeas. These snacks are savory and crunchy. Very easy to make but do require some cooking time. They’re great as a snack by themselves or sprinkled like croutons on top of salads and or vegetable dishes. Ingredients:
- Two 15-ounce cans of chickpeas, rinsed and drained.
- 1 teaspoon of garlic power
- 2 teaspoons of chili powder
- 1/2 teaspooon sea salt
- 2 tablespoons of lime juice.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Farenheit. I usually line the baking sheet with a silicone pad. Recently I’ve also been using a air fryer to cook the chickpeas.
- Using a bowl that can contain the chickpeas, mix in the seasoning using your hands or a large spoon. Mix until all the chickpeas are evenly coated.
- Cover the pan or air fryer tray with a layer of chickpeas spread out so they can cook evenly.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, toss the chickpeas every 15-20 minutes until they are uniformly cooked. It should have nice golden brown colour. When using a Air Fryer, the whole cooking time was 15-20 minutes. Pause to shake and or toss the chickpeas every 4-5 minutes until golden brown. The air fryer cooks a lot faster so needs to be checked more often to prevent burning.
- Roasted chickpeas can be eaten warm or cold for a snack or topping.
